China: Guizhou Animal Market Killing Festival
Animal slaughter in Guizhou, China is extremely cruel and barbaric. There are no animal protection laws so butchers answer to no one, and to a large extent these animals have no voice.
Guizhou is described for tourists as the Switzerland of China; land locked with beautiful mountains and the poorest province in China, with a GDP per capita slightly lower than India. It is promoted as a “wonderful place for a holiday” with new high speed trains.
This barbaric animal killing festival for entertainment would fit into the travel description of “rich and varied old customs and cultures” of different minorities living in the region.
HFA’s sister organization, Fight Dog Meat, is hosting a World Event: Kindness And Compassion Day, Saturday 20 MAY, 2017, to call for animal protection laws and an end to the dog and cat meat trade. Five dog eating countries have already confirmed they will be taking part. Hosted by Fight Dog Meat, over 20 countries throughout the world will be speaking on behalf of animals in critical need, pressuring governments to take notice that the world is watching and demand animal protection laws be brought in and enforced, which will benefit all animal species.

To help animals in Vietnam please make a $5 donation to the Vietnam Animal Aid And Rescue shelter (VAAR), who save all animal species, including injured animals from the streets and dog meat dogs and cats. VAAR run a Vet Training Education Program to teach local vets and trainees, humane practice on pets within Vietnam, as many local Vietnamese vets do not use anesthetic on dogs or cats during open surgery!
